Evinrude Manual Tilt Trim
Hello, last weekend when I went to flip the lever on my 40hp johnson motor so that I could lift it up and put it on a transom saver the lever popped and broke? The lever can be pulled out of its hole, and the cylinder will not release. I ended up taking a pivot bolt out so that I could lift the motor and trailer the boat home. I've tried searching the internet and this forum for answers, but i'm not having much luck. I was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction?
Here are the particulars on my motor. The model number is TJ40ELESR the serial number is G02527194. Hopefully I explained my situation well enough. Thank you in advance for the help, I appreciate it very much! Its doesn't have electric trim/tilt.it just has a lever that you twist when you want to raise the motor up for transport I suppose thats called tilt assist? It has always worked fine til this last weekend, I twisted it so that I could raise the motor up and put the transom saver on, and the lever just pulled out of its hole. Then it wouldn't release the shock so that I could raise the motor.

Got full schems and part #ers for mine there. All them parts asside from the prop i got part # there and went to ebay to save money. Bob ive got 728 feedbacks on there. In 12 years i got like 3-4 things i wasnt happy with. 1 was an xbox gane system.
The cd drawer would work. The guy wouldnt refund and it wasnt in description.
Paypal refunded my cash 100% including shipping. And i kept the item. Another was a weedeater (echo) i paid $100ish said it ran great.
I got it and it wouldt run worth a crap. So i told the guy, he ended up refunding 1/2 my money.
I took it to the shop. $37 to clean carb and new plug. I had cleaned carb. Plug was bad.
But other than that. The prob 350 itens i bought were fine and paypal protects buyers now. So theres no reason for me to stray. Since not all leave feedback and multiple buyers dont count i actually prob have 1000+ deals on there. Never screwed once.
Made over $10,000 since i sold first item in 2002. Just because someone has a bad experience in the first few they give up. Ebay is great.
Everything ive ever needed was there cheaper than retail. Got a 4 wheeler battery there a month ago. $27 no core and better warrenty than everstart.
And $10 cheaper.
