I ended up buying the Monaco Optix Studio XR kit for £120 from It's also available from ColourConfidence: This webpage might be useful to you: I've only had the Monaco for a week but so far no complaints. The installation and calibration process was a doddle, with an on-screen wizard to guide you through the whole process. Regards Paul - Paul Jones. Hi Joe, I knew someone would ask me that, because I am trying to remember their full name - its BasicICC or somesuch (I'm not at the relevant computer).
The difference is HUGE. For example, with the standard bundle XR software, light greys have a magenta cast. There is no cast at all with BasicICC profing software.

I bought ColorEyes software about a year ago from integrated-color.com but never got around to installing it. Paul J I was looking at that Studio XR package that you bought at £120 and would of bought it straight away but I just looks too good to be true. The next item is the Monaco Optix XR at £140 so you save £20 on that alone WHY? Then you get the Kodak Color Management Check-Up Kit £49 and some paper £19 What don't you get for £120 when the Studio XR package alone is £20 more?
I have been on these forums too long that 'if it's too good to be true then.' Rings in my ears when it looks so good.
Can you put my mind at rest and make Warehouseexpress £120 better off? Photomagnet wrote: Paul J I was looking at that Studio XR package that you bought at £120 and would of bought it straight away but I just looks too good to be true.

I've no idea why the standalone is more expensive, but can tell you that I have the Studio XR version here for £123 from (including £3 for delivery) The box contains: = X-Rite calibration device with long USB lead, counter-weight and suction cup (if needed) = Calibration software CD with manual = Kodak Professional Colour Management Checkup Kit, with sample prints and software CD = 20 sheet sample pack of PermaJet A4 Fine Art paper = £20 discount voucher off other ColourConfidence products Regards Paul - Paul Jones. The best combination I've used is the Monaco Optix puck with ColorEyes software. Right now you can buy the two as a package directly from them.
There's a new version on the way announced a couple of weeks ago. After using several other calibration software I find CE easiest to use and most accurate. I have never calibrated my monitors and as such have been getting mixed results, but before decide on which on of the above to purchase, I would really appreciate your experiences and recommendations, especially if anyone has used both of them.

They mentioned 2-3 weeks when I met them at the Photoplus Expo last week. They sell both pucks but the Monaco is superior.
The software is very powerful as it is and I'm sure you'll get a free upgrade if you bought now. David Russell.
