Windows Xp Activation Crack Safe Mode

SafeActivation

This is one I’ve come across a few times down the years, but it always takes me a little while to re-google the exact solution, so here it is my own blog for future reference. Situation A client’s POS server PC had taken a bath, and we hadn’t been able to find the exact same motherboard, so after fitting it, I booted from an XP SP3 CD, and ran the Windows Repair Install process, to ensure new hardware installed correctly, and to reset reg entries regarding licensing tied to the old motherboard. On first boot, you are met with the standard XP login screen, however when you try to login, you are told you must activate windows first – whether you say or no, you are returned to the login screen, looping to start all over again. So, what do you do to fix this? Well it’s quite simple, thankfully. Worked lik a charm!

I was locked out completely because of activation after changing some hardware and running a repair install. The only choice I was given was “Activate Windows Now. When I clicked on Activate, it would go to my desktop screen but no further and I couldn’t do anything. I just had a blank desktop background and a cursor. If I pressed the power button, it allowed me to log off or restart. I could not get into regular safe mode either because of activation, but I used safe mode with command prompt to enter the commands above. When I rebooted, Windows worked as normal again with 30 days for activation.

How To Activate Windows Xp

This gave me time to fix the probem for good. Thanks so much for your help!!

Excellent blog entry – worked like a charm. I had an old Thinkpad with Win XP. I wanted to convert the physical machine to a VMWare virtual machine, so I decided to change its OEM license to a retail license of Win XP which I bought separately. (Microsoft told me that the OEM license of XP was tied to the physical machine, and could not be ported to another machine). After running the retail XP installer in repair mode, and getting numerous missing file errors (which is another topic in installing XP in repair mode!), and ignoring them, I finally got the laptop to reboot and login. Then I got stuck at the Windows Activation panel.

On responding Yes to activate Windows, nothing would happen. I then followed the steps to reboot in to Safe mode and reset the licensing components. Just resetting the licensing components didn’t do it for me – I still got stuck at the Windows Activation prompt. I followed the extra steps to reboot into Safe mode, delete Program Files/Internet Explorer directory, reboot again into Safe mode, and install IE 8 for XP. After that Windows Activation worked like a charm. It didn’t think I had an internet connection (I had a wired one connected), and I had to go via the voice activated telephone route for activation.

Windows Xp Activation Code

Hello, I'm led to believe that anything relating to WPA does not in fact work in safe mode? Is there anything I can do, after days of trying to sort this out I'm getting absolutely nowhere grrr! I was having problems with the computer 'hanging' on start up, it got so far then everything just kind of siezed up. After re-installing my registered copy of XP home edition, like many others it seems, I'm greeted with this activation error box? It simply says I need to contact Microsoft in order to activate and log in? How do I do that because after clicking Yes in the box, the computer just freezes again. No activation window, only a message about lack of synchronisation and nothing else.

I can boot up in safe mode but then what? I can't get online, the microsoft number I rang is just an automated message so in effect my computer is now rendered useless! Can anyone help? Thanks, Geoff. You shouldn't have waited past the 30 day warning XP was giving you like 50 times a day to activate. I take your point but the thing is, the guy I bought the computer from (a reputable dealer) may have already activated the OS when setting it up for me?

I've had the PC for around 3 years now and never actually had a warning about activation? That's what makes it all the more confusing now! All I've ever added on are a couple of external hard drives (for photo storage) which shouldn't have made any difference to the config? I've tried to contact MS but no-one is available on a weekend, there's just an automated message which is obviously of no use.no internet connection = no activation page Thanks anyway, I'll keep trying. I take your point but the thing is, the guy I bought the computer from (a reputable dealer) may have already activated the OS when setting it up for me? I've had the PC for around 3 years now and never actually had a warning about activation? A 'reputable' dealer would have known that it should be registered to you, not him or his shop.

Now you're going to need to explain to Microsoft that you bought it with XP already installed, (have the Key number), and hope the guy didn't use it anywhere else, or MS is going to tell you it is an invalid key and you need to purchase a new key. MS can be understanding about the need to re-install and activate, but the key had better not show up in their database as being used anywhere else. Your computer is going to generate an exclusive number that MS might want. This number will match the number from the original activation, and this is what will get you activated again.

If the machine code is different, MS may assume the CD is being passed around, as well as the Key. If you can get XP activated again, save the activation files in a safe place so you won't need to go through this again. Double-click My Computer 2. Double-click on the 'C' drive 3.
