I live in norco, that dmv used to run fast and smooth. Everyone else got wind of this.

Sender

And they started going to the norco dmv. Now it is packed, cant get an appointment for 2 months, and even the appt line takes forever when you do. You need at least an hour for wait time. Even when you get there first thing in the morning there is a line of people around the building that have been waiting since before it opened. Dont tell anyone what dmv that your speaking of if you want to keep it the same. But where is this?

Oh I can rant on this, can't say mine has been the best! I have tried to avoid going in and do all my business by mail. My license renewal came in the mail about a month and a half before it was to expire. I cut a check and dropped it in the mail for renewal about 4 weeks before it expired.

Never got it before it expired last week, gave them a call to see what's the happs? Turns out they got it returned by the post office, incorrect address. HHMMMM.how's that possible, thinking here we go again (explain later)? They read off my address and it's missing half my street address. How did that ever happen, it's been the same for decades?

Anyway, they corrected it and now I drive on an expired license till it arrives via snail mail. Though I got a better one, my previous license renewal time. Again I send in the renewal in advance and never got the license in time for my expiration date. I at the time I worked on a project in Nor Cal, small town etc. So DMV wasn't busy, just went in first thing in the morning.

They said it had got returned to sender, wrong address? This time it had the wrong city/zip code, first she thought I had filled it out wrong, etc. I showed them proof of my expired license and why would I do that? So they fixed it and said look for it in the mail. Since I went in, they gave me a paper license/extension. Well that paper extension expires and I go back in.again it had the wrong city/zip code. This time some lady acting all big and tall wanted to charge me some additional renewal fee for something?

If memory serves me, a person is only aloud one address screw up. Yet 'I' hadn't screwed up the address! Once I got her boss over, I explained everything showing my original license and extension, they now realized that I have done nothing wrong! I just want my F'n license. So I waited for the mail man.nothing and my second paper license expires. Go back in and they now know that they have a computer virus that keeps changing some people cities/zip codes when going to print. Now they knew how to fix it.

Almost 6 months later to the date I got my drivers license! Rant over.I am at peace now LOL. Oh yeah, thank god I had a passport. Wonder woman 1975 episodes. Otherwise I would I have never been able to grab a beer over those six months.

Mail Being Returned To Sender

A significant change has taken place at the Secretary of State's office designed to improve upon the design and issuing process of Illinois' driver's licenses/ID cards. Applicants visiting Driver Services facilities no longer are issued a new permanent DL/ID card at the end of the application process. Instead, they leave the facility with a temporary secure paper driver's license, which is valid for 90 days and will serve as their DL/ID for driving purposes and proof of identification. For air travel, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has stated that it will accept the temporary document in conjunction with the old DL/ID to board an aircraft until the permanent card arrives in the mail. Therefore, the facility employee will return the old DL/ID card back to the applicant after punching a hole in it.

Meanwhile, the applicant's information is sent to a centralized, secure facility in Illinois. After fraud checks have been conducted to ensure the applicant's identity, a higher quality, more secure DL/ID will be printed and sent via U.S.

Mail within 15 business days to the applicant's address. This new process, central issuance, meets REAL ID requirements mandated by DHS.

As a result, these changes are necessary for Illinois to move closer to achieving full REAL ID compliance. Illinois is not the first state to transition to central issuance. In fact, 39 other states have already done so. This includes heavily populated states like California, Texas, New York and Florida – as well as Illinois' neighboring states.

Also, central issuance allows better identity theft prevention by allowing the office to investigate possible fraud before applicants receive their DL/ID. In addition, the design of the DL/ID card has been upgraded with important features that over-the-counter technology simply cannot produce. NOTE: The temporary DL/ID is not acceptable as proof of identity for a Social Security Number replacement card.

If you plan to request a Social Security Number replacement card, please wait for your permanent driver license or ID card to arrive in the mail before visiting a Social Security office.
